HOW WE DETERMINE S/H COSTS: We take great pride in our safe arrival record. As demonstrated by the feedback we receive, the time and materials we use to ensure it are appreciated and well worth the money. We hope you will agree. In case you are interested, the ingredients that go into our cost calculation are: Amount of popcorn needed to ensure that the box will hold up under pressure from other boxes and any careless handling by the shipping contractor. Popcorn costs $.27/gallon. Amount of bubble wrap needed to ensure that both the body and any appendages will hold up under pressure from other boxes and any careless handling by the shipping contractor. T are 3 sizes of bubble wrap, each costing a different amount. Box size: any item that is more than 12 inches on one side incurs a significant postal surcharge by the postal services. Also, a large lamp box, for example can cost as much as $14. Box weight: Postage for heavy items is significantly more than for lighter ones. We also INCLUDE insurance in all of our shipping quotes for fragile items. So when you see the calculator, it usually includes shipping. To help keep packaging costs down, we reuse every box we receive and try to avoid purchasing a special box for a particular item. Consequently, many of our packages are made of multiple smaller boxes. To keep overall costs down, we also make bulk purchases of supplies, such as bubble wrap, packaging tape, boxes, shipping labels and popcorn. Please don't mark our shipping costs feedback down without taking into careful consideration the time & money we have spent packaging your item in order to get it safely to you.
