Offered are 18 cut crystal glasses made by Baccarat of France: 6 water goblets, 6 claret wine glasses, and 6 champagne flutes. The pattern, "d'Assas", is vertically cut on the bowl and has a textured foot. This pattern gives a sleek, modern appearance. The vertical cuts show the robe (color) of the contents beautifully. The "d'Assas pattern takes its name, I think from a village by that name in the Harault Department of France. The village of Assas is situated around the Chateau d'Assas, that sits on the top of a hill.
The glasses are in mint condition. T are no chips, scratches or mars of any kind. The Baccarat logo is present on every glass. The pattern was made from 1981 to 1991. Although the pattern has been discontinued, pieces can still be obtained. With patience, one can obtain additional pieces through eBay auctions and other web sites. Presently, Replacements, Ltd., is offering water goblets, $169.95; claret wine glasses, $149.95; and fluted champagne glasses, $139.95. In separate auctions, running concurrently, I am offering one each decanter and pitcher in the "d'Assas pattern. Of course, they would complement aptly the glasses offered , but they can be enjoyed alone, too. The parcel size is too large for shipment by USPS. I propose to use UPS ground transportation. If desired, buyer can propose an alternative means.
