Up for bids is a Bachmann 4-6-0 G scale locomotive with Phoenix sound system. In very nice condition. I brought this engine new a few years back.I always liked the looks of the old 4-6-0 steamer. I super detailed the engine by replacing the plastic hand holds with brass rod, for a more scale look. I then added extra piping to the sides of the boiler and piping to the sides of the cooling tanks. Brake lines were added from the rear of the locomotive to the front of the tender, like the real locomotive. If you look close at the pictures you will see all of this detail! There is way to much detail to list. I then added a new cam motor with wheel bearings for very smooth running model. Then a Phoenix sound system was bought and installed in the tender. The sound is from the DRGW locomotive used on the Combres and Toltec in Colorado.A large speaker was installed into the tender, and a smaller one in the engine, for a real sounding locomotive. I can not say enough about the great sound of the Phoenix big sound systems. This really brings the train come to life. The sounds starts up with the generator turning on, then the steam hiss, as the boiler builds up pressure.You then apply a little power and the engine comes to life, with the chuff of each cylinder stroke.
