Bachmann BR Std. 5 73030 fitted with Westinghouse Pump Installation Catalogue number 32-503 BR Black. Early Crest. BR1 Tender.The box states W/H Pump which 73030 and 73031 carried in the early 1950's. However to the best of my knowledge Bachmann never produced a model with the pump attached or as a customer-fit component.This model has the pump attached at the front, together with the boiler piping and fixings and the large reservoir under the frames.The loco has extra detailing and is weathered. Extra Detailing is as follows :-Bachmann components :- drain cocks; front steps; front screw coupling; vacuum pipes.Westinghouse Installation :- whitemetal pump and reservoir; brass pipingLamps :- Springside LMS black lamps for a through passengerBuffer Safety Plate :- Chequer plate on the top of the buffer shanksFrame Lifting Eyes :- reinforcing eyes fitted, but frames not drilled as they are tough metalCrew :- hand painted figures fittedCoal :- a small load of Carr's coal is fitted, which allows a good view of the Bachmann tender detailing including the fire iron tunnel Operation The loco is a smooth runner and controllable down to walking pace. It has been oiled prior to listing and apart from a slight squeak from the speedo cable is very quiet.The front steps do not cause a problem on the 3' reverse curves in my MPD, but may on sharper read more
