Sycamore Petwood Rough is your chance to pick up a piece of history. Up for auction is two chunks of Badger Pocket Sycamore Petwood. This was collected back in the mid to late 50's time frame when the digging for it wasn't such a big deal and still allowed. Sadly, today such is not the case as collecting on the Yakima Firing Center is not allowed. I am fortunate to know one of the early collectors of this material. T is an excellent write up in the June 2000 Rock and Gem magazine about this material. While Sycamore Petwood is located in other areas, this one should be considered a rare bird indeed. Your recovery rate in slabs will be excellent as it shows feathers from front to back. It produces some stunning cabs, and is used in inlay work to simulate bird feathers. From a science point of view it looks like the sycamore a million years ago had the same problems with boring insects as they do today. I tried to make this lot a little more friendly for smaller saws. The total weight of the lot is 15.2 pounds and will ship flat rate. NOTE: Due to regular 9-5 work schedule I try to do my listings ahead of time. The size of my photo manager is limited through ebay.
