They were issued from 1887 until just after WW1. Baines started in 63/65 Carlisle Road then 15 North Parade, Bradford before moving to Manningham Lane, Bradford and finally to 32 Oak Lane, Bradford. Other addresses known to be printed from are Nelson Road, Gillingham and Georges Yard, Barnsley. The intention was for boys to send in as many cards as possible in exchange for sporting gifts, hence the popularity to redeem them was high and they became rarities in their own right. The subjects covered were mainly Rugby League, Rugby Union, Association Football, Cricket & Golf along with the odd military theme and minor sport thrown in at certain times.
