We have been collecting VINTAGE BAKELITE for more than 30 years - now the time has come to sell all of it. This is a Beautiful Carved Vintage Hinge Bakelite Bracelet. The flower carvings in it are Wonderful, Big and Chunky. This hinge has a "low" side opening. What I mean by that is that the opening is not in the usual side of your wrist, it's more towards the bottom. I always found this kind of hinge (except for center openings) was much more comfortable. They don't have that tendency to open while wearing them, like the regular side opening ones do. This bracelet has three carved out flowers with another rounded carved piece that has been laminated into the center of each flower. (There is a photo of each flower.) The oval opening measures 2-3/16" by 1-11/16". The metal hinge is tight and the bracelet has a nice "snap" to it. I do want to point out that there are three rivets on one side of the hinge that do stick up a little. (See the last photo.) I bought the hinge this way and it's never bothered me. I'm sure you could always put a little piece of felt, etc. on it, if you like. The condition is Great (other than what I just mentioned) with no chips or cracks. The thickness of the band at the bottom is 1/4" and at the top including the beautifully carved flower, it's a little over 1/2". This is a Fabulous hinge, don't pass it
