Here's your chance to get a lot for not a lot of money. This wonderful mint condition Sawyer's Bakelite Viewmaster Deluxe is in perfect condition with almost no wear at all. It literally looks like it just came out of the box and speaking of boxes, someone must have thought this was pretty special. It has a great old dovetailed box that is either oak or mahogany that is certainly not original since as far as I know they came in paper boxes. Someone either made this or had it made and it has some really good age on it. The back hinges have been replaced but that was not done by us but was that way when we bought it. We also have 5 catalogs from 1945 - 1947 listing the different reel packs and lots of great advertising. All are in great condition with only one having some discoloration. There are 29 reels with this and they are as follows: REELS From the 40s in their original sleeves: Gethsemane to Calvary (with booklet), Carlsbad Caverns, Boulder Dam Scenic Auto Tour, San Antonio Texas, Virginia City Nevada, Silver Springs and Florida Flowers, Lookout Mountain Chattanooga Tennessee, Grand Canyon Arizona South Rim, Niagara Falls In Winter, Miami and Miami Beach, Golden Gate International Exposition, Scenes of Florida, Rock City Garden, Indian Arts and Crafts New Mexico, Natural Bridge Virginia, Overseas Highway and Key West, Dells of the Wisconsin River. REELS From 1975 in plastic Viewmaster Case for America's Bicentennial Celebration: The 20th Century 1901-1970 Reel 1, Landmarks of American History, The Civil War 1861-1865, Forging a Nation 1787-1886 Reel 1 and 2, The Revolutionary War 1773-1783 Reel 1 and 2, Westward Expansion 1776-1897 Reel 1 and 2. All are sub-titled 200 Years of American History. REELS Unknown Date No Sleeve: Viewmaster Preview Picture Reel Television Cartoon Favorites with Casper, Bugs Bunny and Smokey the Bear, Reel No. 515 Typical Scenes in Mexico, King Kong. We have not run all the reels through the viewer but the ones we have looked at are in good to excellent condition with only minor deterioration. Everything fits beautifully in the box.
