Offered with no reserve is Richard Baker’s famous “Chronicle of the Kings of England,” printed at London in folio in 1679 for George Sawbridge, with the chronicle continued to that time, adorned with a fine allegorical engraved title and bound in late 17th or early 18th century English paneled calf. The engraved title shows insets of London, York, Verulam and Lincoln, along with illustrations of a Roman, a Dane, a Saxon and a Norman, and portraits of Baker and of King Charles I. The volume may be referenced as Wing B508. � THE 1679 EDITION OF BAKER’S FAMOUS “CHRONICLE OF THE KINGS OF ENGLAND,” IN AN ATTRACTIVE LATE 17TH OR EARLY 18TH CENTURY CAMBRIDGE-STYLE PANELED CALF BINDING.
