If your charm has a rhodium finish:Many people feel silver jewelry should not be magnetic, and many high quality jewelrymanufacturers use and have used a finish of Rhodium to keep a bright polished surface on thesilver. It should be known that that there needs to be a layer or wash between thesilver to adhere the Rhodium without damage to the silver. This wash is often attractedto a magnet. Sometimes slightly on heavy silver pieces and more strongly on thedelicate pieces. The metal Rhodium is more valuable than the silver, so it is not adevalued piece unless you just do not like the 'Bright' finish. Rhodium is also used onwhite gold; but the gold does not need that protective layer to prevent damage from theplating process.
