This baluster vase in blue and white porcelain with the foo dog lid was one of two or three pieces I purchased that all came from the estate of a person serving in the US diplomatic or ambassadorial corps in the Orient. We were told that this service occurred some time ago, mid-century I believe. I'm well aware that this piece could be hundreds of years old or of more recent origin. I am no expert on Asian antiquities or porcelain. Any help out t? I have tried to do some research on the marks. This has the four Chinese characters in underglazed blue which, I believe, is meant to indicate that this is "Kangxi Period." I can only say that I'm offering this one time only at my purchase price. I'll try it and see what happens with it on eBay. Otherwise, I'll check with some area auction houses which specialize in Asian items and try it t Some time ago, I had a piece of Chinese porcelain which ended up going to a museum!
