Bandalasta Urea Formaldehyde Box 1930's - 1960's LARGE with DIVIDER

BANDALASTA UREA FORMALDEHYDE CORACLE SANDWICH BOX FROM BROOKES & ADAMS - FABULOUS FOR YOUR VINTAGE PICNIC WITH DIVIDER AND CHROMED CLASPS AND HANDLE

Condition - I don't sell damaged items - no cracks, chips, fleabites, stains, rusting etc.

This one is the very special and rare DIVIDED box. Huge - and will take strong flavour fillings on each side without tainting the other - even the lid has a moulded divider.

Features chromed metal hinges and carrying handle.

Earliest injection moulded plastic picnic box - could be used for anything. Made from earliest plastic contemporaneous with Bakelite which couldn't be made in cream or white (oxidises to Butterscotch colour). A real piece of British manufacturing history in terms of bringing together the newest fully man made Plastic material with the first injection moulding process. Made in Birmingham at Brookes & Adams who still made small metal parts - though Bandalasta itself is long gone. These are really lovely items which need to be seen, handled and used to be fully appreciated.

Please message me for any further information - I have lots of Bandalasta items and can list anything that will complete your Bandalasta picnic basket or set.
