This three quarter size Chelsea banjo clock has the same jeweled time only movement used in Chelsea's famed high quality ships clocks. The reverse paintings are original with only two small spots of flaking on the door. Dial has been professionally resilvered and is marked, "Shreve, Crump and Low. Boston." Banjo clocks have always been very popular and were made by most of the American clock companies. Many were ill proportioned and "clunky", but in my judgement this is one of the most nicely proportioned banjo clocks ever made.
