This is a all brass plated variant: but still a very weighty model. A very pleasing shape/silhoette with good attention to detail. The quality of the brass is reasonable in most area although not in A1. The worst area is the brass cylindrical shade which is of a lesser quality brass than the main part of the lamp. Here, the brass has pitt marks, early tarnish amd has discoloured slightly. The rest of the brass: the stem, base and fitments are in reasonable condition, having scuffs and surface scratches. Regal appearance to blend in with the most traditional of decor setting. These lights make wonderful room accessories. A traditional, art deco style design however this is a reproduction model from the 1980's era that gives the light a more modern theme on the original design.The light has an in-line switch on the wire and is very versatil for angling the light where you need it to illuminate A thorough polish will improve the brass - might not completely resolve the shade section but good scope to make the light even more presentable than it currently is. That said, despite the flaws to the brass it looks like a quality item - and the brass has a suprisingly good level of shine already. Would look great in a traditional decor sat on a mahogany desk with green leather binding. Just like the setting you see on dramas set in the 1920's - 1950's... superb!
