Set within a year after the events of Batman Begins, Batman continues in his seemingly endless effort in bringing to justice the criminals who plague Gotham City . Aided by Lt. James Gordon and new D.A. Harvey Dent, the Dark Knight faces a rising psychopathic criminal mastermind known only as the JOKER. Batman's struggle against the Joker becomes deeply personal, forcing him to confront everything he believes in and forces him improve his technology to stop him. Because of the new movie, Iâe(tm)m putting up for auction this very rare copy of Batman #5 from the spring of 1941. With its noir night in Gotham cover featuring a dynamic forced perspective action scene of Batman catching and placing criminals on the scales of justice as Robin watches on. The cover is no longer attached. It has an ever so slight spine roll, chipping around the edges with creases and pencil marks on Batmans face and in the full moon. T may be what appears as an attempt at color touch in the moon. Still, an absolute stunner of a cover. My personal favorite Bob Kane cover, notice that Bob has not given Batman a chest logo. This issue also has the first appearance of the boathead Batmobile. Because of these detractors, I would rate this book as solid GD. All in all, it is still one of the most aesthetically pleasing covers, Iâe(tm)ve displayed it many times. With food prices on the rise, the price of gas astronomical and the housing market in a tailspin; the comic book market has held steady for the past 40 years. Consider an investment in comics. This book is affordable and is available.
