You are bidding on an original group of 13 black & white publicity photographs for the original TV series "BATMAN". These are the original high quality photographic prints, not reproductions, and were sent out to newspapers in the UK for use in previews and listings in the 1960s. The size is 8" x 10" approx. and they are very high quality ORIGINAL photographic prints in excellent condition. Most have the original typed descriptions on the reverse on a small piece of paper (and some of these typed descriptions are loose, torn or detached, due to the adhesive tape drying out over the years, and due to being in an album at some point), these paper labels either naming the character or describing the scene for use in the press caption. A couple just have notes of the character name in biro and no label. These original photos were rare and hard-to-find even in the 1960's, and now are virtually impossible! T are two groups of photos, one group of 6 with borderless prints, each with a (detached) paper label and ATV ink stamp, with one of Batman, three of Robin, one of the Penguin, and one of the Bookworm. The labels state that the series is new to television and will be screened starting in May. The other group of 7 photos have borders and appear slightly later than the others but are from first season episodes as far as I can tell - they feature Batman in classic pose, Batman and Robin together with the Batmobile, The Mad Hatter, the Joker, King Tut (twice) and Frank Gorshin doing his most excellent Riddler. No Catwoman, sorry! From this second group, the ones with labels quote the episode name, and 20th Century Fox Television. Why am I selling these? I must have looked at the Mad Hatter's hat for too long!!They were passed on to me years ago when a regional newspaper cleared out over 25 years ago, and have been stored flat, out of the daylight so are generally in super condition. T are slight handling marks, sometimes a crease, the occasional press annotation to the reverse, and some light traces of adhesive paper to the reverse due to storage in an album, and tape marks w the captions were attached, but overall they are very fresh in condition, with no damage, and among the best you will find, if you ever can find any more. Don't under estimate the rarity of these ORIGINAL prints. They hardly ever come up for sale, and these are in brilliant condition. The quality and detail is incredible! They aren't taken from the films stock, but specifically were photographed on set for press use, so are usually unique images. Some are really iconic. Batman! Wow! What a show! Would look brilliant framed! Batman TV memorabilia is always collectible, and is a set of photos produced before the shows even aired on TV!! A must for all Batman or 1960's TV buffs!! No zero or negative bidders please, all payments must clear my bank in GBP Pounds (this includes PayPal payments) before I ship. Shipping is at cost and I do not charge for packing materials!
