Battle of Cambrai (1917) WWI WW1 Brass Shell Case Trench Art

You are bidding on a piece of WWI history, a brass shell case with extensive decoration commemorating the Battle of Cambrai which took place November and December 1917.

The foot of the shell case has the village name Roisel where the British troops retreated after the battle. Casualties were 45,000 on each side. The battle was made famous for the extensive use of tanks.

The shell measures 22.75cm tall and 90mm diameter at the base.
