Up for auction is a very rare and unique piece of Battlestar Galactica memorabilia. The reason being is that this 35 MM trailer is not an ordinary trailer. This trailer is actually a special trailer that contains a reference to certain costs regarding Galactica, and it's my understanding that not many of these were made. Back in the early 80s I took a part time job at a Dallas movie theater w I got to know and became friends with the projectionist. Upon my leaving he gave me this trailer as a gift. He explained how the movie studio had sent the wrong trailer and supplied a new one (as explained in the letter). He said that this one had been laying around for a few years, that the studio had apparently forgotten about it, and when they were asked again were not concerned about getting it back. He gave it to me knowing that I was into Sci Fi and that I would appreciate it (and also probably to clean out his projection room). He also mentioned that this copy was in fact the copy that mentioned certain costs of the production. though I have never watched it to verify his claim I have no reason not to believe him. When I got home I checked it out and found the letter from Universal City Studios inside the box. I also looked at some of the film and it is about Battlestar Galactica, as the first frames show Cylon fighters. This trailer has been in my possession for 25 years. I have kept it dry. Thought the box shows some tears, the film is in excellent shape. The letter is in very good shape.
