Bauer Ring Royal Cobalt Casserole Deco Art Pottery I just purchased this J.A. Bauer Pottery Co. casserole base from a local estate in Central Virginia. The casserole was produced as part of Bauer's popular 1930's "Ring" dinnerware line, designed by Louis Ipsen. The casserole, sans original lid, is very nicely executed with crisp mold and good definition to the exterior embossed rings. The piece is finished in the desirable "Royal" blue color which was introduced in the early 1930s (1931 / 1932). The casserole retains the copper and wood handled service frame which is in excellent condition with some minor oxidation. The casserole itself measures 7 ½" across the top rim and 3 ½" deep. The bowl is in excellent condition with a few typical production glaze thin spots along the top rim and the underside of the foot ring. T are also three short scratches on the bottom most ring, which do not go through the glaze and may have been done in production, as the remainder of the piece shows no signs of use or wear. This handsome cobalt casserole would make a nice addition to any collection of Bauer Ring dinnerware or 1930's Art Deco kitchen ceramics.In order to provide you a variety of shipping options, please do not use eBay checkout, UNTIL AFTER I HAVE CONTACTED YOU. Insurance is paid by the buyer and items sent without insurance are done so at the buyer's risk. If you do not purchase insurance you bear full responsibility for loss or damage to the parcel in transit. I do not charge any additional handling or materials fees. Payment must be received within ten days following the close of the auction. I accept personal checks (with appropriate ebay postive feedback) and money orders. I WILL SHIP PARCELS WITHIN SEVEN DAYS OF THE PAYMENT DATE, PLEASE DO NOT ANTICIPATE IMMEDIATE SHIPMENT. I typically expedite quite quickly, but based on a few experiences, my policy is the parcel will leave within a week of payment. All Sales are Final unless t is SIGNIFICANT POST PRODUCTION DAMAGE which is not disclosed in the description or photographs. I DO NOT accept returns for production flaws or normal wear under any circumstances. You may return the item within 3 days of receipt for a refund if we agree t is a discrepancy. I will not refund shipping charges. I have tried to accurately describe the item but am not an expert and highly recommend interested bidders ask any questions or request additional photographs to make their own evaluation of the piece.
