is a very rare and vintage dinner plate with the Hotel Green T.L. at top written in an ornate style in sea green. Plate measures about 9 1/4 and is the early BAUSCHER ripple rim style. The New York BAUSCHER mark on back is early dated 1907. I believe that this particular plate originated from The Hotel Green in PASADENA, CALIFORNIA as opposed to another Hotel Green back east of which had a diffrent logo or crest. I have never seen this plate before and I know for sure that it is very rare being very early Bauscher ware high quality china. The hotel was an absolutely lavish setting and so many famous people chose to stay t because of the settings and views and the super nice hospitality of the hotel staff that other hotels actually tried very hard to compete with but couldnever acquire the legendary status and prestige of this wonderful hotel. The hotel was served by several railroads, mainly the Southern Pacific and Union Pacific and served very heavily (see the many PE ads) by The Pacific Electric Railway Company. Many meetings and special railroad events of both SP and PE were held at this hotel The plate is NEAR MINT with no chips cracks or blemish and is a super high quality display piece ready to display in your collection. is some additional history on the Hotel Green. The Hotel Green , built in 1903 in Pasadena,California was home to both theTournament of Roses and the Valley Hunt Club .The hotel was built by George Gill Green and was supplemented by two later buildings, creating a complex of three structures. Hotel Green, by Los Angeles-based architect Frederick (or Frederic) Roehrig, was the first of the three buildings; it was published in the periodical The Western Architect in December 1905. Castle Green was the second building in the complex and was originally known as the "Central Annex." By 1924 the hotel was owned by a group of investors who divided the hotel complex into three parts. The Central Annex was subdivided into fifty residential apartments and renamed the Castle Green. The Castle Green is listed on theNational Register of Historic Places, the State Historic Register, and the City of Pasadena's list of Historic Places.Parts of it are rented out for social functions and filming locations for such films asPuppet Master and The Time MachineThe Hotel used to have a pedestrian bridge over Raymond Avenue to reach another wing of the hotel. That wing however, was later razed to 2 stories and was sold as business space.Castle Green is currently home to the oldest elevator on the West Coast..Thanks For Looking and be sure to view the other great items I am listing now on Ebay.
