Up for Auction is a unique piece. This is an Italian Model 1871/87/1916-Etched. The Blade measures 9-3/8" long and the overall lenth of the bayonet is 14-3/8". Both the Blade and the scabbard brass scabbard mounts have etchings on them. The scabbard mounts are brass and the remainder of the scabbard is leather. Scabbard is in excellent condition along with the blade. (see pics) This model is Identical to the Italian Model 1871/87/1916 except for the etching on the blade and scabbard mounts. It is possible this variation was manufactured for the Spanish Fascist Party. (Bayonets from Janzens Notebook pg 121) This example is in excellent condition on an item you do not see often. Blade is marked "Terni" along with a "RS" in a circle.(State arsenal) Grips are also in excellent condition. FREE SHIPPING IN THE U.S .
