This U.S.A. Swan Chatelaine pen inblack chased hard rubber with three snail-pattern decorated bands dates to 1910. The slip cap fits firmly. The bow-shaped brooch for attaching to a garment is an after-market add-on. The pen measures 13.8cm capped. It doesn't post. There are no cracks, scratches or bite-marks and the black hard rubber remains unfaded. The gold plating on the bands is very good. The chasing is unworn and the barrel imprint is crisp. The 14ct gold Mabie Todd nib is marked “Toronto” and may therefore be a replacement. It is fine and semi-flexible. The barrel and section threads are good and the pen holds ink without leaking. An historic pen in superb condition. UK mailing will be by First Class Recorded Delivery. Overseas mailing will be by Airsure for those countries that have it and International Signed For Delivery for the rest. I will combine postage on multiple purchases bought on the same day. PayPal only. Payment within three days, please. As many buyers will be aware, I have been absorbing a proportion of the postal charges. I will continue to do so, however Royal Mail's recent price rise has forced me to raise my postage charges by £1.00 (both for domestic and overseas shipping).
