This auction consist of a BDS custom Classic Bowie knife. Other than Ebay, I have a business making knives. I would like to sell these knives by the end of the year, so I have reduced the price and I will pay for the shipping via Priority Mail and the insurance. I do not make the blades. I purchase most of them semi finished and only pick good quality steel. This blade is made by Western Knives. They have been making quality steel in the USA for decades. The blade is high carbon stainless steel. It takes and holds an edge as good as carbon steel does. I hand pick all of the materials for the handles. The handle is made from one half of a large, straight African Hippo tusk. It is hand carved into a spiral and has a stainless steel end cap. I like working with hippo ivory. It is harder than most other ivories. The ivory is fully dry. The handle is thick and heavy, a lot of ivory. It has a hidden tang in the tusk. The guard is brass. It comes with a brown leather sheath also made by Western. It is made in the USA using domestic leather, not the junk that comes from south of the border. All of the work is done by me in house. I do not send anything out. This is a big one of a kind knife with good balance and feels good in your hand. The total length is 14 1/2 inches long with a 9 1/2 inch blade.
