BEAR BRYANT 1 OUNCE .999 FINE SILVER ART BAR - MADISON MINT - 1983 - MAD - 257 - LIMITED MINTAGE OF 1000

This is a Rare, 1 Ounce .999 Fine Silver Art Bar produced by the MADISON MINT in 1983 to honor the Famous Collegiate Football Coach - PAUL "BEAR" BRYANT.

Most Famous for his tenure as Head Coach of the Alabama "Crimson Tide" Football Team from 1958 through 1982. At the time of his retirement at the end of the 1982 season, "THE BEAR" had accumulated the most wins as a Head Coach in College Football History. -- 323 CAREER WINS ! Following his final game, a reporter asked what he would do in retirement. Bryant sarcastically replied - "I'll probably croak in a week." -- 4 weeks later, "THE BEAR" died from a massive heart attack on January 25, 1983.

The total reported Mintage on this rare Bar is Limited to 1000. The front portrays Bryant leaning against the Goal Posts. The reverse is inscribed with one of his famous quotes. I would classify this bar in Uncirculated Condition - except there is a Minor Mint pressing error on the reverse where the "be" in the quote is not raised as high as the rest of the quote. I have seen this same Minting Error on at least 5 other of these Bars. -- (Please See Photos) Will be shipped in a "Airtite"
