100.28 troy oz .999 fine silver (Actually 100.28 troy oz, not 100 troy oz) REALLY OLD pour loaf Very rare, too Bear Paw Mining Co. This bar is probably in the vicinity of 80-100 years old! Silver history is at your fingertips – read below. Bear Paw Mining has a rich history of gold and silver mining in Northwestern Montana and Northern Idaho . The original mines were located in the Bear Paw Mountains of Montana , which in the 1880's was located in the Blackfoot Indian Reserve. In the 1920s, Bear Paw was taken over by 1st American Co-Op. Some years later the company was taken over again by C S (Consolidated Silver). All 3 companies worked on the same mining range, using same equipment and same molds to cast the silver. 1st American Co-Op and C S are often referred as ‘Baby Bear Paw’ because of the history involved. This bar is the 1st generation – or you can call it grandpa if you call the other two Baby Bear Paws. All the "grandpa BEAR PAWS" have the stamp CWP which some believe was the owner, CW Paulsen (not verified) but is known as the bear paw stamp. These bars, if and when available, are hoarded by collectors and rare old pour connoisseurs. This full wrinkled old man is the testimony of time. You will receive exact item in the picture. 100 oz Bear Paws were frequently sold at $3 or MORE premiums over silver spot – you get mine here for less premium over spot. Shipping includes fully Insured, Registered, Priority Mail with Signature Confirmation. (It costs me more than the shipping charged here). Not for sell internationally due to the limit on international insurance coverage, I apologize.
