It all started one magical night in Adelaide. James Blunt and the boys were playing up a storm, and Paul "Beardy" Beard was doing his amazing interpretive dance to "Cuz I Luv U" when suddenly his right shoe took a powder and decided to body surf through the crowd. Since that fateful day in April, Beardy's Shoe has climbed mountains and forded rivers, flown in airplanes, and traveled across the ocean by ship. He has been aided by dozens of boardies who have tried to help him accomplish his mission - reunion with the fleet-fingered one. He has followed Beardy across two continents and through six countries. And finally, FINALLY! they were reunited in Everett Washington just a few days ago. Beardy and Spence had a long and very private conversation when they were finally together. But at the end of it....Beardy and his shoe realized that it was time for them to go their separate ways. Spence, much as he loves Beardy and appreciated all the friendship shown to him in his travels, has decided that he is really a stay-at-home kind of sole. And so, with a tear in his eye, Beardy agreed that it was time for this wonderful solemate to find a permanent home in the arms of someone who will pamper him with nice polishes and fresh laces, and maybe even a bit of waterproofing spray massaged into him from time to time.
