The Beatles " DAILY EXPRESS ADVERT FOR THE RICHARD AVEDON POSTERS " This is a Very Rare , Original and Official Advert issued by the Daily Express on February 23rd 1968 !!!! Also included is the Order Form that was a Free insert inside the Beatles Monthly Book No .56 from March 1968 !!!! This is an Extremely Rare and early piece of Beatles " Memorabilia "!!!! This being an ORIGINAL 1968 " Advert " and "Order Form" From which you could send off to get the Full Set of 5 Posters for 30/- (shillings) which is One Pound Fifty Pence in todays money!!!! In 1967 Richard Avedon created two Famous sets of Portraits of The Beatles !!!! The First taken in mid to late 1967 became one of the first Major Rock Poster Series , and consisted of 5 striking Psychedelic Portraits of the Group , 4 heavily Solarized Individual colour Portraits and a Black & White group Portrait taken with a Rolex camera and a normal Planer Lens !!!! On offer here is the ORIGINAL Advert that was issued in the Daily Express back in February 1968 !!!! This is in FULL COLOUR and looks absolutely Superb !!!! I had this Professionally Set several years ago into a Black and Gold Frame , with Black Borders surrounding the Pictures !!!! It has a PROTEK " Conservation Backing Board " which ensures optimum Protection from Acid Attack and Humidity !!!! The Frame measures 18 .5 ' inches by 23 .5 and is made from Black Ash wood with a Gold surround and Glass front!!!! The Order Form is a Two sided Leaflet , folded to give Four sides, it measures 8 ' inches by 6 ' inches folded and 8 ' inches by 12 ' inches opened!!!! And was Machine Folded !!!! Given that they are nearly 45 years old they are in " Fantastic " condition!!!! These Very Rarly turn up for sale and especially so in this Complete and Whole condition!!!! CONDITION!!!! DAILY EXPRESS ADVERT : I had to Open the Backing of the Frame to determine the Condition of the Newspaper as well as to be able to take Pictures to confirm that this is an ORIGINAL Advert and not a Re -production (I will of course take it back to the Frame Maker to have it Re -sealed before sending it out to the winning bidder)!!!! Considering it's age it still looks Brilliant !!!! Because of the PROTEK sealed backing it has kept itself in Beautiful condition, it has Hardly even Yellowed which you would expect from a Newspaper of this Age!!!! There are no Rips , Tears or Writing anywhere to be seen!!!! In my 30 odd years of being a Beatle collector I have NEVER come across one of these before!!!! I have seen plenty of the actual sets of 5 Posters for sale but NEVER an ORIGINAL A dvert from the Daily Express !!! So that will give you an idea of the Rarity of this item!!!! I would grade the Poster and Frame as Excellent !!!! ORDER FORM : This Order Form still looks Fantastic !!!! It has NEVER been Used or Filled in so there are no Unwanted " Rips ", " Tears " or " Writing " anywhere to be seen!!!! All it has are the usual Fold marks where it was originally Machine Folded !!!! I would easily grade this Order Form as Excellent ++!!!! I point out ALL noticeable Minor Defects so that the buyer knows EXACTLY what they are getting. They may sound a little off putting but I can ASSURE you they are tiny in comparison to the " RARITY " of this item. I am expecting a lot of interest in this simply because it is NOT something you will often see for sale. Look on Ebay or ANY Beatles related websites and you will find these Very Difficult to locate and especially so in such Good condition Awesome !!!!
