ONE OF THE ALL-TIME BEST SOUNDING, AND ONE OF THE MOST COLLECTABLE LP BOX SETS ON THE PLANET!! AUCTION SPECIFICS AND CONDITION: THIS BEATLES MOBILE FIDELITY BOX SET BEING OFFERED HERE IS THE LAST OF AN AQUISITION I HAVE MADE OF BOX SETS AND LPS! IT IS A VERY LOW NUMBERED SET TOO!- 2,741 OF 25,000. THIS MEANS IT IS A TRUE JAPANESE PRESSED SET, AND NOT AN AMERICAN PRESSING AS WERE THE LAST 10,000 OF THESE SETS THAT WERE EVER OFFERED. The lps are in beautiful NM condition. I looked every lp over, and each lp is beautiful full gloss NM. I played these discs on a VIP Classic II table with a Dynavector 17d cart through high end McIntosh components. Not a wisper of any noise other than sweet and incredible Beatles music like you have never heard. Honestly, I don't think most if these lps have ever seen a turntable otherwise - they are that nice! These JVC SUPER VINYL LP's shine like a peice of fine glass with a wet gloss finish! I could not find a single spindle mark on any label! The only mark on any of these lps is a curious gold sticker put on one side of one of the whitle lps. Doesn't affect play in any way. A SUPERB PLAYING SET! The box has seen some wear and bumps from being moved over the years. A slight ding in the upper mid left door as picture. The material on lower back has been cracked, but is repaired and hardly noticeable. A couple of other light scuffs on the front, but otherwise in solid funcional shape. All of the hinges and the clasp are in rock solid condition with just the slightest of patina from age. The box has done a terrific job of protecting its contents, is not NM, but is in very presentable condition. I would assume you will be playing these discs anyway, and they lps are stunning. A full-sized, full color, brochure of all 13 lp covers (The White LP is 2 lps which make 14). Booklet shows light storage wear on the cover, but the contents of the booklet have been preserved in stunning like-new condition! 2. Includes all of the cardboard inserts and rice paper inner sleeves which are in great condition along with the NM lps. 3. Certificate of authenticity. 4. Also includes the GEO DISC cartridge alignment tool for your turntable. 5. I will also include copies of a rare MOBILE FIDELITY letter about the release of the set that was sent to retailers, and a 1982 LA Hearald news article about the release of the box set! 6. I will also include copies from the pages of an ultra rare MOBILE FIDELITY PROMO BROCHURE promoting the box set to retailers! (check out the pics above). These copies are so well done by a local graphics company that you would never know they are repros.
