The Beatles Please Please Me first Yellow & Black Stereo Parlophone in very near Mint This is the elusive proper THIRD pressing of the Stereo Please Please Me. We know this because it retains the line: YEX94 33 1/3 (to the left of the spindle hole) from the first 2 (Gold Label) Parlophone Pressings. This was a mistake as there was a big 33 1/3 (above the Yellow Parlophone) in the newly designed Yellow & Black label overlay. It was only after the inital run of the new label batch that were only pressed on Machine B, did they realise the mistake and took the extra 33 1/3 lettering off the press virtually straight away. All Third label Stereo Please Please Me's had "1 G" as the Mother Stamper for side 2. The Mother Stampers for Side 1 was either 1 M or 1 P. I have yet to find any evidence of a 1 O/ 1 G third pressing, but they must be out there or the engineer didn't know his alphabet.. There are NO known pressings of this particular press with the Mother Stampers as 1 R /1 G (as stated in the Xmas issue of Record Collector), but he got the general consensus right in that you ideally need this to have a 1 G pressing on side 2 (along with your Gold 1G/1R pressing) to make the set.
