BEATRICE WOOD Important sculpture of red clay composed of three wall-like panels with five door-shaped openings, occupied with modeled figures alternating between single women and embracing couples. The figures are glazed in bright cadmium yellow volcanic glaze, against walls glazed in mottled yellow, black and brick, and door openings in brick red. The three panels are grouted together and mounted on a pine board. No visable signature. Ceramic: 12 3/4` x 54` x 4 1/2`; on board: 14 1/2` x 60` x 9`
