It was produced in limited firing editions from 1986 to 1989. This series of plates is based on a classic romantic Chinese novel called A Dream of Red Mansions which holds the key to understanding China and its culture. The Master Artisan Zhao Huimin, who gained fame for his paintings on porcelain, illustrated this tale depicted here. This was the first collectors plate set issued by the Peoples Republic Of China and released through the Bradford Exchange. This set is previously owned and briefly displayed. There are no chips, cracks, or crazing noticed on any plate. The plates come in their original boxes with paperwork. The plate rack does has small chips and dings from display. Please see photos for further details, and check shipping charges before bidding. The display rack will only be shipped upon request. Additional shipping costs for the rack will be $20 to the 48 contiguous United States. Shipping quoted in this auction does not include the plate rack .
