Beautiful 100% Original Edison Home Cylinder Phonograph

Lovely original Edison Home Cylinder phonograph (model B) in excellent working condition. T are no reproduction parts on this wonderful machine. Everything is authentic, right down to the brass and black witch's hat horn. The cabinet retains its original factory finish, and the original banner decal is still in outstanding condition -- see close-up. Also included is a near mint Edison 2-minute gold moulded cylinder that looks and plays like new.
As you can see in the photographs, the deck of this machine is fantastic. The enamel is still deep black and glossy, with absolutely no cracks or flaking, and the bedplate retains almost all of its original gold pinstriping, with no touch-ups anyw . The cabinetry has acquired a superb patina over the past century, with soft honey undertones that accentuate the quarter sawn oak, and all of the small hardware is correct and original. A few small marks on the lid, and some oxidation on the lid latches and crank (which is typical, because these were the parts that were most vulnerable to the elements, even on machines that were meticulously maintained), but overall the cosmetics of this set are excellent. Original black and brass witch's hat horn has enough gleam to be eye-catching and enough tarnish and paint wear to attest to its authenticity. A few nicks and dings and t, but as original horns go, it displays and sounds great. No paint touch-ups anyw Motor and governor assembly are in perfect working order. The machine keeps steady time, playing cylinders with no wavering or drag. Spring still has lots of torque. When fully wound, this set will go through five or more 2-minute cylinders before needing to be re-wound, an indication of just how well it's been cared for over the years. Everything will be double-boxed and shipped out in heavy duty, well-padded containers to ensure the machine's safe arrival at your door. I've been shipping cylinder phonographs for years, and I can assure you, packing them properly is something of a minor art, and it's an art that I take quite seriously. I'll also include a professional reproduction of the Edison factory's set-up instructions for this machine, so it will be ready to display or play within a matter of minutes after you unpack it.
