ANTIQUE CUT GLASS OVAL BOWL I have up for Auction A Beautiful Cut Glass Oval Bowl. I believe this could be an American Brillian Cut Glass Bowl but I am fairly unfamiliar with glass. So please ask questions. I have black light tested this piece and have not found any cracks, nor any large chips. The cuts are very deep and clean. I can't find any chips or cracks or even fleabites along the notched top edge. In addition, this piece glows the desirable pale yellow under the black light, which from what I understand merely means that it is pre WWII. When the war began, all uranium sources went to the war effort, so glass that glows yellow under a black light, was produced before WWII . The Bowl measure's 11 1/2" in Length, 8" Wide and 4" Tall. It has a Scalloped Sawtooth Edge and a deeply cut Pattern of Hobstar's and Thistles or Leaves (?). T is an etched C at the point of the bottom Hobstar (pic #3) The Bowl is in excellent condition, with the expected Wear Marks on the Bottom, and a small nibble along the bottom rim (very small unable to photograph). The bowl has a beautiful pattern although I am unsure of the name of it. This bowl is from my Aunt's Estate and has been in storage for many years. Please feel free to ask any question's or request more photo's if required. WINNING BIDDER TO PAY SHIPPING PRIORITY MAIL INSURE IS OPTIONAL read more
