This awesome Dresden compote is in wonderful condition. Been wonderfully taken care of by an elderly collector whose home was full of this type item. This compote stands 15" tall and is around 14 1/2" across the widest part of the bowl top. Inside the bowl is gold decoration as well as being decorated with orange, purple and yellow flowers. Rim of the bowl is edged in gold and bowl is 5 1/2" deep, has 4" lattice panels surrounding it. On each of the panels outside are (5) pretty pink 1/2" flowers with yellow centers. The entire outside, of course, is white, but w t is any indentation, as well as other places, t is a light blue coloring. It's just gorgeous. So much gold decoration also. The bowl is also edged on the outside with (8) 1 3/4" pink flowers with yellow centers. The base has 3 feet, each has a 4 1/2" cherub blowing a golden horn perched on it. Cherubs are a light flesh color. Between each foot, on the bottom of the 11 1/2" base, t is a deep red dot on each side. Bottom is marked with a crown, RK, Dresden and according to what marks I've seen - should be Germany, although it can't be read. This compote is in excellent condition. I am not an expert on Dresden, but so far as my untrained eye can see - this piece is very near mint. Gold shows no wear that I can see.
