Description The decoration of this attractive antique plate is beautifully executed in overglaze rose, blue, green, red, black, purple and gold enamels. The dominant color of the peony flowers is rose, which has given this style of decorating the name "Famille Rose". The decoration consists of a pleasing arrangement of flower bouquets. This plate shows most of the typical characteristics of the Famille Rose wares produced in China during the reign of the Chinese emperor Qianlong (1736-1795). However, the paste suggests it may have instead been made in Europe during the 19th century, for example in the Samson factories in Paris. However, this is very difficult to tell for this type of wares. Diameter 9.25 inches. Age Qianlong, ca. 1780 or 19th century. Guaranteed over 100 years old. Condition Perfect, with no faults.
