I purchased this clock 35 years ago from an antique store in the greater Kansas City area. I bought it for its beauty, the wood, the detail, and its ornate carvings that make it so elegant and unique. It has had great care, hanging in one place for the past 20 years and being wound only occasionally. When I wind it, it runs for 8 days or more. (It is a time only clock.) It starts out keeping good time but gains about 1 hour in the 8 days. It is running presently. I have never tried to adjust it to run slower. The pendulum has R - A on it as you can see in the picture. The key that came with the clock when I purchased it has "VICOR C14 601 Germany" on it. I believe part or maybe all of the case to be walnut & burl walnut, (I am not certain.) As I handled the clock to photograph it, I realized that the case has been refinished and some of the ornate carvings repaired. Any restoration was done very well because it did not get my attention when I purchased it (nor would it have mattered as I accept and expect age to have its effect.) It is in fine, sturdy, condition. From my knowledge of old pieces, I believe this to be mid to late 1800s. It measures 24 ½" tall, 9 ¼" wide and 4" deep, approximately. It is one of the prettiest clocks I have ever seen and for its age, it is in great condition. All of the glass looks as if it is the original
