This piece was originally misidentified and listed as a "John C. Moore, pre-Tiffany & Co. case", WHICH IT IS NOT, so we terminated the auction immediately. This was a mistake on our part and we apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. Thankfully it was pointed out to us by a diligent and extremely knowledgeable EBAYER (thanks ny_Rick) this is what makes EBAY great.

Oneof the feet is ever-so-slightly bent, so the piece has a very minute wobble. Not enough to detract from the elegant beauty of this unusual piece. The details in the paws and Lion faces are incredible and flawless! The lid is tight and shuts flush. The hinge is in excellent mechanical and aesthetic condition. This is a heavy, solid piece for its size. This piece is monogrammed with three letters on top of the lid. They appear to be an "E.A.S". I can hardly make out the first letter, but am sure of the other two. The monogram is extremely light and could be removed. The lid is thick and heavy.
