BEAUTIFUL ANTIQUE VICTORIAN GOLD GILT FRAME WITH THREE-DIMENSIONAL GARLANDS AT THE TOP. A beautiful Victorian accessory from the time period. FRAME APPEARS TO BE IN ORIGINAL CONDITION- dates from about 1880's to 1890's.

The frame is probably bronze with a gold gilt finish.
The frame itself is not attracted by a magnet - only the brass-plated backplate and the wire easel are attracted by a magnet. Frame with glass in it weighs just less than 2 pounds.
The longest measurement is 9 and 3/4 inches.
The widest measurement of the frame is 7 inches. The glass is just over 6 inches by just over 4 inches, so this frame could take a standard size 4 by 6 photo. The brass-plated backplate is open at the top to put the glass and the photo into the frame.
The backplate has some very slight scratches and discolorations. The gold gilt has some wear and some discoloration, maybe even a little touch-up to the gilt, on the back of the frame.
Can't really tell what the underneath metal is without scratching it. DOES NOT ATTRACT A MAGNET. It doesn't look like brass, so I am thinking it must be bronze. If you are not sure about my description, please don't bid because I CANNOT guarantee that it is bronze, only that it is a non-magnetic metal. The 4 front sides of the frame have a kind of criss-cross lattice pattern all over it. T is beading all around the opening of the frame. The edges are raised up with beading and a shaped edge on the outside edge. Very beautiful frame. Unusual to have something this old in such good condition LOOK AT ALL MY PICTURES - better than my description! ALL SALES FINAL. I am selling items that are close to a hundred years old. Naturally t will be irregularities and flaws just because of the age. I will describe an item as best I can, and will try to picture any irregularities or missing parts, but ASK QUESTIONS BEFORE YOU BID!
