We are downsizing, so in the next few weeks, with Christmas just around the corner , will be selling many antiques, appliances, quality furniture, collectibles and curios, that will make some nice Christmas gifts, so please keep and eye on my auctions. You may see something you can't live without. This is a no Reserve Auction . Up for auction now is a beautiful hand painted matching pitcher and bowl. As you may know, in the days before running water and indoor plumbing, each room of the house had a table, or marble top washstand with one of these pitchers and bowls on it for sponge bathing the day's grime off. Not as good as a bath, but better than nothing. This beautiful pitcher and matching bowl, is hand painted powder blue with a colorful flower arrangement on both sides. I know is at least 90 years old. Because t is no maker's mark on the bottom of the pitcher or bowl, this is a custom made item, made with tender loving care. Not a production piece, sold for profit, because on the bottom of the bowl is hand written in blue, "With Love" into the glazing. When tapped with a hard object, it has the clear ring of fine China, instead of the dull thud of a cheap plaster reproduction, which means it has been fired in a kiln after both pitcher and bowl were glazed and carefully handpainted with blue highlights. If you have a Victorian themed room with a washstand in need of a beautiful pitcher and bowl, this is just what your room needs for that final touch. It is a real eye catcher. Seller prefers Paypal, postal money orders or cash, but will accept Cashier's checks or non postal money orders with the understanding that t will be a ten day wait while they clear. I know I specified "No shipping, local pickup only", but that is not the case. I only did that because I did not have time to figure all the necessary shipping calculations before listing this item. Buyer is responsible for actual shipping costs. I will carefully pack in a sturdy box, using plenty of bubblewrap and ship by USPS. I only charge for the actual shipping and do not charge a handling fee like some sellers. Thank you for your interest and good luck. This is NOT "For local pickup only". I will ship this item and will notify the buyer of the shipping cost when I know the eventual destination.
