Bulova's 1st Transistor Radio The "Comet" from 1957 This one always draws comments and is one of my favorites. It is a very collectable radio from that famous watch maker known for their quality. Well, guess what. They made transistor radios also. This is their first one and it is in the highly desireable bright red color. The serial # 0811 is very low making it one of the first transistors that Bulova produced. The inside is very clean, as is the outside. The surface still shines (except on the bottom w the normal scratching has occured over the years). The dial is a bright gold with no corrosion. This little radio (only 6" wide) works fine on a common 9 volt battery. It has surprising sound for only having 4 transistors. It will pull all your local stations with strong output. The volume control works fine without static. The gold colored handle is strong and straight and has 3 positions depending on whether you are storing it, displaying it, or carrying it somew This radio is perfect for your collection or for your listening enjoyment.
