You are bidding on an exceptionally beautiful vintage Emeralite lamp with its original (signed ) Bellova acid cut-back shade. Although Emeralite Lamps of this type with a plain green shade do show up, IT IS EXTREMELY RARE TO FIND ONE WITH A SIGNED "BELLOVA" ACID-CUT SHADE LIKE THE ONE ON THIS LAMP! This handsome & elegant lamp stands 14 3/4" tall and the base diameter is 7 1/2". The metal of the base is brass and it has a great old mellow patina reflecting its 90 years of age . The spindle-like column is very gracefully designed. T is a cast iron insert underneath the brass base to provide the counterbalance weight for the shade. I lifted the felt covering on iron insert and found it is embossed with the EMERALITE designation " 8734X ". The lamp appears to retain its original pull chain switch which seems to work well. It looks like it has been rewired with the appropriate cloth covered cord for the era of the lamp. The channel-like frame into which the shade fits retains its original EMERALITE tag with the date of 1916. The base is in overall great condition and has a fantastic patina! The deeply acid-etched shade (signed BELLOVA; CZECHOSLOVAKIA; 1465 ) is spectacular and in excellent condition. I really cannot fault it in any way. It has a white inner layer & is profusely and deeply etched on the outer layer. The front "CAMEO-LIKE" etched border of the shade surely enhances its grand appearance! It is about 8 5/8" wide and has a lip which clips into the channel holder of the base. It fits perfectly. I have provided a full battery of photos so you can get a comprehensive picture of this great old lamp. IS THE OPPORTUNITY TO ACQUIRE A LAMP WITH A TRULY IMPRESSIVE PRESENCE & IT IS ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS! Questions welcomed. I think a 2 box shipment might be best, but will leave that decision to the buyer. Please ask if you feel t are any isssues in need of clarification. 10 days to clear checks.
