This is a beautiful George III English sterling silver sauce or gravy boat in superb condition and hallmarked 1778. The boat is beautifully embossed and chased with flowers and foliage and has a beaded rim and a lovely leaf capped double scroll handle. It stands on three paw feet. Condition: Excellent. No significant dents - just a couple of the tiniest nicks in the bottom which are hard to see, and a little extremely minor interior scratching. T are no splits or repairs. The spout is perfect without any distortion, and the boat stands squarely on its feet without a wobble. Dimensions: The boat is 5 1/4" (13 cm) from the tip of the spout to the edge of the handle and 2 1/2" (6.5 cm) wide at its broadest point. Height is 3 1/2" (9 cm) to the top of the handle and 2 1/2" (6.5 cm) to the top of the spout. Weight: 3 1/2 oz (100g) Maker: Thomas Wallis Hallmark: London 1778 Postage: Shipping is from the UK .
