Found at an estate sale is the lovely glass spoon holder..dated on the bottom..PAT SEPT 23 1884..I am not well versed in glass ware, I am not sure if it is cut glass or pressed glass..but a very decorative piece..it has a frosted elephant finial at the top, and star designs on the carousel that holds the spoons..it holds 12 spoons and these were prevalent in the finer dining rooms in the 1800's and early 1900's..I cannot find a makers mark..the only flaws are a few rough spots w the spoons rest..but no cracks or hairlines..in really good condition, wear consistent with age and use..if you know the maker or more about it, I would like to know..it is approx 12" tall..we try to list antique, primitive and unique pieces daily, so PLEASE ADD US TO YOUR FAVORITES LIST!!
