Newcomb College (New Orleans, LA) Art Glass Vase, made by student in looks like 1987. Vase is 7 3/8 inches tall, and 8 1/8 inches in circumference at the widest point (upper third area of vase). The base color of the vase is a very dark cranberry red glass with an irridescent cobalt blue glaze. The abstract design inclues powder blue, brown and beige hues. The pattern of the glaze as well as the shape of the vase reminds me of an art noveau piece. The vase is signed (etched) on the back side of the vase (lower, bottom right) with the initials (looks like) Mim in script writing. T are three very tiny, light scratches on the front, and two very tiny light scratches on the back side. I don't see any chips. The bottom has the navel from w the rod was removed. This is a very nice, and elegant piece. Please email me if you have questions, or need more info.
