BEAUTIFUL RARE Bronze Bowl JUST ANDERSEN Danish This is a very rare and beautiful art deco mission vintage art nouveau danish Just Andersen bronze bowl. Has a very nice heavy feeling. It dates from ca. 1930 - 1935. It is stamped "Just Denmark B 104". The bowl shows sign of use. T are no dents. Ib Just Andersen, 1884-1943; sculptor and silversmith Just Andersen was born and lived his first 10 years in Godhavn, Greenland . In the beginning of Just Andersen designed silver for different silversmiths in Copenhagen ; A. Michelsen, P. Hertz and Georg Jensen. Around 1918 Just Andersen started on his own in Copenhagen . He made jewellery in gold and silver, objects d'art in pewter and bronze. The style is Around 1930 Just Andersen invented the metal-alloy "Disko". He was maybe the beginning of what later became the danish modern style in scandinavia. Especially the pewter- and bronze-objects was a success. Up through the 1930'ies, Just Andersen opened shops in Copenhagen , Berlin , Bruxelles, London , Los Angeles and New York . Just Andersen participated in several World Fairs during the 1920'ies and 1930'ies.
