Beautiful RUSSIAN Lacquer Box - Small - 2 7/8" x 2". I purchased this box in the late 1960's and believe it may be by an apprentice. At that time very few of these lovely boxes could be found in the U.S. The Herons against an evening (or perhaps dawn) sky are majestic. Interior is traditional red; "Made in USSR" is inscribed on the bottom and a note of authenticity (in Russian) is inside. Very nice piece for the collector. MINT Condition!
