OFFERED FOR AUCTION: BLACK SIGNED OVAL RUSSIAN LACQUER BOX WITH 3 DANCING MAIDENS This Exquisite Signed Russian Lacquer Box is adorned with 3 Maidens who appear to be dancing together in a circle. The backround is entirely black which further inhances the beauty of the paint work on this piece.The gold paint has beautiful luster and is illuminous next to the colors of the dresses.The 3 dress colors are Azure Blue ,Lustrous Gold & Red and Lighter Gold and Beige.The maidens wear scarfs on their heads. The box is Black and at the feet of the maidens the lacquer becomes a Lighter Brown to show their dancing feet. The box is oval and measures 5 1/2 x 4 1/4. It is a nice size! The inside is Red with a few minor knicks and surface rubs and t are a few minor knicks and scratches on the lid. With that said the lid shows beautifully and the base cannot be seen. T is clearly a signature below the blue dress. I do see that t is a number 71 above the signature. The base also has lost some of the lettering but it does say Handpainted in USSR.At the rim of the base it says us or uo117.10 T are surface scratches on the base The rim of the lid has a gold scroll pattern all around the edges.
