For auction - a beautiful and stunning antique Sitzendorf figurine depicting two men and two women having a picnic. The first porcelain manufactory in Sitzendorf was established by Georg Heinrick Macheleidt in 1760. Through the years t were many changes, then in 1890 another branch was opened in Unterweissbach, producing high-quality porcelain figures and figural groups (like "Dresden style" figurines). Despite world wars and economic hardship, the Sitzendorf porcelain factory operates to this day. This piece is large and measures 14" x 9" x 10 1/2" high (to the top of the flowered pot) and is dated to be between 1900-1920. T is a lot of detail, color, and flowers. The women have beautiful, delicate lace sleeves and collars, plus pink and white lace trim the edges of their dresses. Lace also surrounds the sleeves of the men and around their necks. Delicate yellow, blue, orange, and pink flowers are showcased throughout the piece. Gold trims the base and many other areas of the figurine. It is in very good condition, I would say excellent, but it's almost 100 years old - t aren't any chips to the flowers -none that I can see (amazing since it's so old) or cracks in the piece. I haven't counted the flowers, but I would say t are hundreds of them. This would definitely make an excellent addition to anyone's porcelain figurine collection. International bidders need to pay parcel post shipping prices because the United States Post Office will only insure packages that are sent parcel post (to foreign countries).
