This is a 1954 RCA AM/FM table radio. It is model 6-RF-9 and is a 9 tube superhet covering the standard broadcast and FM bands. The radio has a 8" speaker. I was quite impressed with the quality of sound and sensitivity of this radio. I received many stations on both the AM and FM bands using only the built-in antenna while in my basement. The sound is rich and free of hum on both bands.I had replaced the line cord, the original had a cracked plug, and one pilot lamp. Because the radio works so well, I decided not to change any of the components. All tubes were tested and all tested "good".The mahogany cabinet has not been restored. All the knobs are original and for the exception of the tone control knob, all are in perfect condition. The tone knob's shaft had to be repaired. The front grill is also in perfect condition. The large airplane dial has some discoloration on the plated portion, but not really that bad. The cabinet is in great shape. T is a water spot on the top and the finish has started to come off(see photo). Overall the radio will show and play very nicely. The radio's dimensions are 17" wide, 10 1/2" tall and 9" deep. It'll weigh 26 pounds for shipping. This auction is for the USA only. If you have any questions, please e-mail me.Thanks for looking and good luck bidding.
