This auction is for a BEAUTIFUL VILLEROY & BOCH LAPLAU SCENE CANNISTER, with wooden airtight lid. It has a hilltop country/village scene with a farm scene l painted in tiers. the sky at sunrise or sunset with birds flying, the French village with courtyard, the road with workers carrying their tools, the colorful, quilt-like field tier with crops in different stages of growth. The color palate is pleasant and warm. It is in Excellent pre-owned condition with no chips, cracks, or repairs. The lid has gentle wear that adds to the character. I believe the original artist created these scenes of French village life, so beautiful, yet simplistic art form, very pleasant to view wver you choose to utilize them: great for kitchen, craft area, or just to display for a great color accent with other LAPLAU Collectible pieces.
